Sustainable / Eco Tourism
Ecotourism requires a holistic approach in order
to provide tourists with experiences that bring them close to the natural
surroundings they choose to visit, including the people who inhabit them. There are many considerations when planning, designing,
building and operating an ecotourism resort that differ from a standard accommodation.
Compliance with a wide range of requirements is necessary for inclusion in the
important ecotourism associations as well as to satisfy green-minded
guests. The ecolodge should cause minimal or no damage to the local environment;
local communities should be supported; waste should be recycled, energy usage
should be minimal, less pollution etc.
The principles of sustainability: balancing
environmental, economic, and social aspects are the main pillars of eco /
sustainable tourism project.
- Minimizing forest destruction and supporting conservation of nature both generally and in the local area
- Maximizing the use of local, organically-grown fruits and vegetables
- Using local architecture, raw materials and labor
- Minimising the use of energy
- Minimising negative impacts on nearby villages / Community
- Local Employment & Community Development
- Supporting the local community in terms of education, economic development etc.
- Minimising water use and managing waste
